Now 36, the Premier League's third highest goalscorer of all time is pictured taking questions at training ahead of Saturday's EVO-STIK North clash after being invited along to Stainton Park by assistant Boro boss Frank Sinclair.
The former Chelsea, Leicester and Burnley defender sent his thanks on social media after Cole met manager Jon Macken and his squad, @FrankMSinclair tweeting: "Massive thanks to my long time friend @vancole9 finding the time to come down to training tonight & share his wisdom with our players tonight, inspirational for @radcliffeboro fc to have a @premierleague & @ManUtd legend come down & be able to pick his brains. Top man!"
Cole also played in the top flight for Arsenal, Newcastle United, Blackburn Rovers, Fulham, Manchester City, Portsmouth and Sunderland, as well as in the Football League for Bristol City, Birmingham City, Burnley and Nottingham Forest. Capped 15 times by England between 1995 and 2001, he has the distinction of being one of the few players to have swept all possible honours in the English game, including the PFA Young Player of the Year award and a coveted UEFA Champions League winner's medal.
