After being joined by everyone from local members of their emergency services to African drummers and the Droylsden Mashers for last May's inaugural Big Lottery-funded HurstFest, the Robins are kicking off this season's free festival by screening The Lion King.
Officials at the EVO-STIK League Premier Division's Robins are urging their fans to grab a blanket and enjoy an amazing outdoor cinematic experience at their home on Friday 11 May before staging HurstFest 2018 the following day.
Tickets are priced at £12 for adults and £8 for U16s with gates at the ground opening from 6.30pm before the Disney classic start at 8.30pm, giving film-going fans plenty of time to enjoy hot food, a bar, popcorn, music and much more beforehand. Tickets for The Lion King are available from www.thelittleboxoffice.com/cinemaunderthestars/event/view/81433.
The Robins - who've teamed up with Ashton United in the Community, Tameside Borough Council, St John's Church, Tameside Oldham & Glossop MIND and others to organise HurstFest 2018 - are laying on a host of attractions to build on last year's success and attract another bumper turnout to the free festival featuring local faith groups and businesses, a children's football tournament, live entertainment and a range of stalls and food outlets.
