Hardcastle and Lufudu commit to Ashton

Midfielder Ben Hardcastle is the latest player to commit to Ashton United for the new season.

Hardcastle, 25, followed manager Michael Clegg to Hurst Cross from Atherton Collieries last season and made 14 appearances.

Clegg said: ““Ben came in under big pressure last season with the situation we was all in. Im just looking forward to him being himself next season and being the player us staff believe in so much. He is great footballer who’s work ethic is infectious.”

Meanwhile, full-back John Lufudu has also agreed a deal to remain at the club.

Clegg added: “John impressed me the most last year. I came in and I was blown away by his performances. If we can work on a couple of things in pre season, we have a right player on our hands.”
