Hardy hits club milestone

By James Gordon

Last season’s EVO-STIK League Premier Division Golden Boot winner Liam Hardy has achieved another milestone at Buxton.

He is now the club’s second highest goalscorer since the Second World War, notching 117 goals in 183 appearances.

Hardy, 28, first joined the club on loan from Harrogate Town in February 2014 and has enjoyed three separate spells with the Bucks.

He leapfrogged the late Ralph White recently, a locally based left-winger who was the scourge of Cheshire League defences in the post-war years.

The club record stands at 251, set by Mark Reed between 2002 and 2014.
