Hyde United lose promising goalkeeper

Goalkeeper Gio Bellagambi has left Hyde United after being recalled by parent club Huddersfield Town.

The 20-year-old has been in fine form for the Tigers, making 12 appearances during his time at Ewen Fields.

He also played an instrumental role in their route to the fourth qualifying round of the Emirates FA Cup, where they will face Buxton for a place in the first round proper.

Bellagambi made his Uganda debut in the recent international break, keeping a clean sheet against Libya.

The in-form Tigers had won seven successive matches in all competitions, prior to Tuesday night’s 3-1 defeat to Trafford in the Manchester Premier Cup.

They currently sit fifth in the Northern Premier League, one point off top spot.
