Hyde win race for Roscoe

By James Gordon

Reigning NPL Team of the Year right-back Brad Roscoe made his debut for Hyde United on Saturday after making the move from Buxton.

Roscoe, 22, left the Bucks last week by mutual consent, with the club citing his issues in travelling to training from Colne.

He went straight in to the Tigers line-up for their goalless draw with Witton Albion.

Manager Dave McGurk said: “Brad is a great signing for the football club. He was in the team of the year last season and he got our vote for the best right back in the league. He is young and wants to learn yet still has good experience. We have beat a lot of teams to his signature.”

The club has also extended the loan deal of Alex Starcenko from Guiseley for a further two months.

Meanwhile, Oran Thompson, Jacko Hardacre and Cyril Owolabi have all left.
