Ilkeston Town land Scunthorpe duo

Ilkeston Town have signed defender Ross Barrows and former Chelsea youth player Habib Makanjuola.

Barrows, who started out at Scunthorpe United in his younger years before returning to the club last month, has now joined the Robins on a three-month loan deal.

The 24-year-old, formerly of Altrincham, will move to the Northern Premier League to secure more first team football after falling down the pecking order at his parent club.

He goes straight into contention for Saturday's opening-weekend trip to Marske United.

Another fresh face at the New Manor Ground, creative midfielder Makanjuola has signed on dual-registration terms from Scunthorpe, having impressed at the Iron whilst on trial earlier this summer.

A former U17s World Cup winner with Nigeria in 2013, he was recently contracted to Leicester City, rising through the ranks alongside household names such as Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi.

He spent time with Chelsea at U16s level and Birmingham City at U17s level, prior to his time at the Foxes.
