Investors to be named on Saturday

Halesowen Town are set to name the new investors in their proposed takeover on Saturday before the Yeltz host Matlock Town in the EVO-STIK League's top flight.

Halesowen Town chairwoman Karen Brookes will be making the announcement on the pitch during an exclusive interview with Black Country Radio’s Adam Parkes before kick-off after club officials confirmed they were in a position to name the investors in place to complete the purchase on Wednesday following the successful conclusion of lengthy discussions.

Brookes, pictured following her appointment last year, told Black Country Radio listeners last month that an agreement had been reached to buy the Yeltz from current owner and former chairman Steve Lynch after the crowdfunding campaign she helped launch with fans in January to raise £30,000 to finance a takeover prompted a new investor to come forward with an offer to join their consortium.

A spokesman for the EVO-STIK League Premier Division club said: "This is an exciting chapter in the history of our great club and we would encourage as many of you to join us on Saturday as possible to share in this great news. #UpTheYeltz."

Yeltz fans have been backing the fundraising scheme led by Brookes and her father, club president Colin Brookes, since it was launched by the Brookes family at a meeting of more than 200 supporters at The Grove in January.
