Junior Mondal makes Whitby return

Forward Junior Mondal has joined Whitby Town.

The former Middlesbrough man returns to the Towbar Express Stadium for a second spell, having left Darlington at the end of last season.

Mondal scored 15 goals in 48 appearances in his first spell with the club before earning a move to Forest Green Rovers.

He is no stranger to the area, having enjoyed a number of loan stints at fellow Northern Premier League side Marske United last season.

Meanwhile, the club have also confirmed the departure of Jack Hackett after two seasons.

The 23-year-old Sunderland Academy product initially joined the Seasiders in 2019, on loan from the Black Cats, before returning on a permanent deal in August 2021 following his release from the Academy of Light.

Hackett made 21 appearances for Whitby last season before linking up with Hebburn Town on loan.
