Keeper adds competition for Colls

Atherton Collieries have signed goalkeeper Elliott Wynne from Farsley Celtic.

Wynne, 22, has spent the past two seasons in National League North with the Yorkshireman and Altrincham, and moves to Colls to provide competition for Danny Taberner.

Manager Brad Cooke said: “Elliott fits the bill in terms of what we want at this football club. He is young, he has a great pedigree and he is hungry to succeed in the game.

“Elliott has spent the last two seasons in the league above, so it’s a coup for the club that he has chosen to sign for us.

“We have been looking for an additional goalkeeper following the departure of Paddy Wharton, so we are delighted to welcome Elliott to the club!”
