Holt followed the management team from West Didsbury and Chorlton, and has made 7 appearances for Atherton, including five from the bench.
“It was a difficult decision, but the right one for both parties. Those conversations aren’t enjoyable with someone I have an awful lot of time for," assistant manager Rob Sadler said.
"Krissy’s game time has been limited but you need lads you can rely on and trust when you step into a role and that’s why it was a no-brainer to bring him with us.
"He would argue he hasn’t been given enough opportunities which is a fair comment but he needs to play and enjoy his football, and with the current squad we couldn’t guarantee him that.”
