The EVO-STIK Northern Premier League's social media maestros are taking on the The Non-League Review for an hour as part of a 12 hour marathon of continuous football and on Saturday the group's administrators launched a late "massive push" urging fans to make a donation via text or the online fundraising page they've set up to support the charity.
The inspiration for the event came from Radcliffe's Tom Glendon whose 92-year-old granny Emily Richard has been diagnosed with dementia. The efforts of Glendon and the NPL Facebook Group are also being supported by the EVO-STIK NPL's official kit sponsors Joma who are donating a special kit branded with the NPL Facebook logo and Chryso who are providing the match balls.
When the NPL Facebook Group's side kick off at 2pm they won't be short of talent in their "grudge" match against the Non-League Review.
As well as FC Halifax Town midfielder Sam Hillhouse, other top Non-League players who've committed to turn out and represent their 5000 plus members include keeper Adam Devlin, Kieran Royston, Jaide Godwin, Phil Hare, Ossett Albion's Rob Bordman and Colne FC duo Jay Hart and Ben Hoskin.
To donate, text NPLG69 with your amount to 70070 (for example: NPLG69 £5) or visit: www.justgiving.com/MarathonNPLCharity.
