Leek Town provide 3G pitch update

Leek Town have provided the following update on their 3G pitch installation.

The club said in a statement: "The scheduled finish date for the project was the end of August, unfortunately this has now been extended by a month until the end of September. The sole reason for the change is the delay in the arrival of the synthetic surface from the supplier CC Grass, the onsite contractors have virtually finished all other work and the only outstanding element is the installation and certification of the surface. Work will recommence at Harrison Park as soon as the surface arrives, and the club continues to work very closely with the Football Foundation and CC Grass to minimise any further disruption.

"This is obviously disappointing news for the club and is affecting the scheduling of home games for the first team, ladies team and Under-18s team as well delaying the use of the facility for community purposes. We would ask everyone to remain supportive and patient in this difficult and frustrating period for the club.

"The club in conjunction with the Pitching In Northern Premier League has rescheduled home games for the month of September and would publicly like to thank the league, our opponents and Buxton FC who have continued to support the club in this period.

"A further update, along with fixtures changes, will be released when available."
