Macclesfield bring in new goalkeeper

Stanway, who has already spent time on loan at FC United of Manchester and Bootle this season, links up with a Silkmen side currently four points clear at the top of the Pitching In NPL West Division.

The 21-year-old started his career at Holker Old Boys before a move to Lancaster City followed, where he kept three clean sheets in five appearances.

Stanway then joined Chester in January 2022 and went on to feature 11 times for the National League North side before the end of the season.

"It's been a whirlwind few days getting it all sorted but I'm glad to be here now," he said.

"It's the place to be in non-league football, a club on the up."

He could make his debut away at Colne on Saturday afternoon.
