Mariners forward makes Robins loan move

Ashton United have confirmed the signing of Darius Osei, on loan from South Shields.

Since their recent departures of club legends Sam Sheridan and Liam Tomsett, The Robins’ manager Michael Clegg has acquired the services of 26-year-old Osei.

The striker has previously played for Oldham Athletic, Stalybridge Celtic and Maidstone United, before joining the Mariners.

Osei was South Shields’ top scorer last season, netting 14 goals in 41 games.

The prolific forward made his home debut for The Robins on Tuesday as they were held to a 1-1 draw at Hurst Cross.

He will look to open his tally for Ashton in their next Pitching In Northern Premier League fixture against Radcliffe Borough on Saturday.
