Matchday move for stalwart

Hednesford Town's Terry McMahon has stepped down as the secretary of the EVO-STIK League's Pitmen.

The stalwart, who has been associated with the football club for more than 20 years, isn't leaving Keys Park after switching to the role of match secretary for the 2017-18 EVO-STIK League Premier campaign.

All club administration responsibilities are being transferred to other officials, leaving McMahon looking forward to concentrating on his matchday duties when the Pitmen host Ashton United on the first day of the season, Saturday 12 August.

In a club statement, McMahon told fans: “It has been a privilege to hold the position of club secretary since 2009 and for the forthcoming season I will handle match day administration in the role of match secretary.”
