Matchday pass is perfect prezzie!

EVO-STIK Northern Premier League Marine reckon they've come up with the perfect Christmas gift for fans, a half price season ticket offer covering the rest of the campaign.

Unveiled on Wednesday, the £85 deal for adults and £50 offer for senior citizens tickets covers admission to all 13 league games at The Marine Travel Arena starting with the Boxing Day game against Colwyn Bay on December 26.

Officials say the half-price tickets can be purchased at Gate 3 at all of December's home games after going on sale this Saturday when the Mariners host title-chasing Blyth Spartans in the EVO-STIK NPL's top flight.

Marine chairman Paul Leary said: “This is a great festive offer for our increasing number of Marine fans as we head already towards the second half of the season. The purchase of a half price season ticket is an ideal Christmas gift and I hope that it will result in further increases to our attendances for the rest of the season.

"The adult price of £85 is really good value and works out at just over £6 per game and for senior citizens just under £4 per game. This is a great offer providing affordable football to the many footie mad fans on Merseyside.”

* The Mariners are looking forward to Liverpool legend Bruce Grobbelaar entertaining fans at The Marine Travel Arena next Friday (December 11).

Grobbelaar, who won the league with the Reds six times as well as three FA Cups, three League Cups and the European Cup in 1984, is the main guest at the latest joint fundraising evening the club is hosting with groundshare partners AFC Liverpool. In total, the stopper made 628 appearances over 13 years after signing for Liverpool in 1981.
