Matlock sign three more

Matlock Town have added three new faces, with a fourth expected before Thursday's registration deadline.

Winger Osebi Abadaki, 30, returns to the Gladiators from Ashton United, via Barwell and Stourbridge, having left The Proctar Cars Stadium in the summer.

Also joining the promotion push are New Mills duo Benito Lowe and Darren KcKnight.

The pair, who can both play in midfielder, have signed on a dual-registration basis with the North West Counties League season due to complete on April 2.

Manager Paul Phillips said: "We’ve had Ossie before and he’ll hopefully fit the bill for us for we’ve lacked pace generally going forward recently.

"I’d also like to thank New Mills for their help in us getting Darren and Benito. Their season’s finishing earlier than the NPL so while at first they’ll be with New Mills, we’ll be able to have them with us in the last part of the season."

Phillips is also expecting to add another striker to his squad before the deadline, subject to FA clearance.

He added: “This lad scored sixteen goals the season before last in a higher league, he has pace, knowledge and will add quality. A different looking forward line will offer us more pace."

Meanwhile, forward Marcus Marshall has linked up with National League North side AFC Telford United.

Marshall, 32, only returned to the club from Basford United back in January, but has struggled for game time.

He makes the step up with the Bucks, though Matlock will be retaining his NPL registration.
