MBNA announced as Chester partner

Chester Football Club and MBNA have announced they are to continue their partnership for a further two years.

Chester-based credit card lender MBNA is strengthening its relationship with the club and will become its ‘Principal Partner’. The deal is an extension to the two-year kit sponsorship MBNA has had with the club since its inception two years ago.

The partnership will mean the MBNA logo will continue to appear on the front of all first team home and away playing shirts and replica shirts. The new shirts, bearing the MBNA logo, will be unveiled in the summer.

Ian O’Doherty, Europe Card Executive for Bank of America which operates the MBNA brand, said: “We are delighted to be strengthening our two-year relationship with Chester Football Club. We are a business that takes pride in supporting our local community and to continue this partnership for a further two years is an investment in the future of the club, a true community club that is so central to the city of Chester.”

MBNA, based in Chester, is a subsidiary of Bank of America – one of the largest financial institutions in the world. It is also one of the UK’s largest credit card lenders.
