Michael Clegg leaves Macclesfield

Macclesfield have announced that manager Michael Clegg has left the club by mutual consent.

Clegg joined the Silkmen in February this year from fellow Premier Division side Warrington Rylands on an initial 18-month contract following Alex Bruce’s departure to League 2 side Salford City.

He helped guide the club to the play-off final, where they were beaten 2-1 by Marine.

Macclesfield will now be led into the 2024/25 season by a new manager.

Further statements regarding a new appointment will be made by Macclesfield in due course.
