Mills joins Slikmen for undisclosed fee

Striker joins League Two club

Nantwich Town's Ben Mills has joined npower League Two side Macclesfield Town from Nantwich Town, becoming the latest Evo-Stik NPL player to join a professional club.

The 22-year old joins former Worksop Town striker Ben Tomlinson at the Moss Rose outfit, and follows in the footsteps of Evo-Stik NPL alumni Jordan Connerton, Antoni Sarcevic, Ross Hannah and Jamie Vardy, who have all signed professional contracts in recent seasons.

Mills joins the Silkmen for an undisclosed five-figure fee, and told the club's website, “I’ve had a terrific time at Nantwich.

"I can’t thank the club enough for giving me the opportunity to step into League football. The gaffer (Jimmy Quinn) has helped me to improve my all-round game and I’m very grateful to him for that. I’d also like to say a huge thank you to the Nantwich fans for all the support they have given me – it’s a great club and I wish them all the best for the rest of the season and beyond."

Macclesfield Town will visit the Weaver Stadium for a pre-season friendly in the summer as part of the deal.
