New Mills Prepare For Red Devils

Manchester United reserves to visit Church Lane

Despite the infancy of the 2011/12 season, Thursday night is highly likely to see the biggest crowd at New Mills AFC for many a long year.

Borne out of manager Ally Pickering's friendship with members of Manchester United coaching set up, The Red Devils reserve side are the visitors to Church Lane in a highly prestigious game organised to celebrate The Millers 125th anniversary.

Kick off is at 7.30pm and to help alleviate any possible congestion at the turnstiles, the turnstiles will be opening around 5pm and the Clubhouse, canteen and barbecue will be fully operational for spectators enjoyment.

Admission has been capped at the 2011/12 matchdays prices which are £6.50 for adults and £3.50 for concessions. A full edition of the matchday magazine “ The Amber Scene “ will also be available, priced at £1.50.

It is hoped that extra car parking facilities will be in operation on the night at New Mills School which is situated further along Church Lane.

The club launched their new playing kits last week for their debut season in The Evo Stik Northern Premier League.

The Millers have continued their association with local firm Rad Sheep who have designed the kits - the traditional amber and black home strip and the all white change kit - to meet the Club's requirements.

Full details of Rad Sheep's teamwear can be found at www.radsheep.co.uk and any supporter wishing to purchase either of the the new kits can buy them from Rad Sheep's New Mills AFC online shop at http://www.funkygear.co.uk/new-mills-afc-39-c.asp, with the replica shirts starting from just £25.
