New mower was on England duty!

The turf team at EVO-STIK League Stafford Rangers are handling their latest addition with special care with England into the semi-finals of the World Cup and fingers crossed around the country!

Phil Bennett, a member of the top flight club's non-executive committee and groundstaff volunteer, is pictured testing a newly recommissioned mower that has just seen service at Manchester City's Etihad stadium and the FA's HQ at St Georges Park where England trained before flying out to Russia 2018.

Delivered on Monday, the mower and potential piece of history at Marston Road, was donated by Allett's and will soon see service with Bennett, groundsman Den Ecclestone and other grateful volunteer groundstaff including Dave Hiscox and Derek Lester as Rangers prepare for the upcoming 2018-19 season.

Based at Hixton on the outskirts of Stafford, the respected lawnmower manufacturers were recently awarded the contract to provide mowers for the World Cup venues in Russia including Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium where Gareth Southgate's side will face Croatia on Wednesday night in the country's biggest game since Italia' 90 for chance to reach a first World Cup final since 1966!
