New physio taking to the touchline

Leek Town manager Neil Baker has added a new physio to his touchline staff ahead of his side's big kick off to the 2017-18 EVO-STIK League season at Alvechurch on Saturday.

The Blues - who are running a coach for fans to the Lye Meadow home of the EVO-STIK League South newboys - named Newcastle-based Lauren Dawson this week in the run-up to the new season. Formerly with Witton Albion, the physio will compliment the club's medical staff and work with Baker's squad on matchdays and at training.

Officials at Harrison Park have also launched a new 'Corporate Blue' season ticket specifically aimed at business owners and their staff. The new variant is being introduced after being suggested to Leek Town chairman Jon Eeles during the club's recent beer festival by Dave Felstead, a Port Vale fan and the managing director of long-time sponsors Rail Trail Tours.

He'd seen it operation at the club's neighbouring League One giants and a Blues spokesman said: "The ticket is aimed at business owners who would like to support the club and offer a benefit to their employees - something very similar to an offer that Port Vale made in the past."
