Officials at the Harry Williams Riverside Stadium say they are hoping to make an appointment as soon as possible after launching the new set-up this summer to develop young players for the first team squad and help existing players coming back from injury or a break find their fitness and form.
Covering at least two sessions a week with the development squad and first team, the role is voluntary although expenses will be paid for scouting and coaching courses to develop the candidate's skills. A good knowledge of Non-League football, strong communication and administrative skills as well an FA coaching award and commitment to develop to UEFA B standard are among the qualities sought in a successful candidate. Others include being locally based and possessing their own transport.
A spokesman said: "The ideal candidate will work with the existing staff to support the first team management by applying their philosophy to the development squad. They will work closely with our successful youth programme to progress players and will deliver outstanding coaching sessions and match-day guidance to a group of excellent young players along with established semi-pro players. The ideal candidate will also act in a scouting capacity for the first team manager."
