New shirt sponsorship deal is best in years

EVO-STIK Northern Premier League Lincoln United are celebrating the signing of one of their most lucrative shirt sponsorship deals in years.

Local company Direct Textiles will adorn the front of the club's home and away strip for the second year running after agreeing a new deal to extend their sponsorship.

As well as featuring on Lincoln's new Nike 'Challenge' home kit and away strip, the company will also sponsor their travelwear and the team's coach to away games. Their branding will be on show in and around the newly-refurbished ‘Arthur Simpson’ stand, named in honour of the club's former chairman, when the new season kicks off on Saturday 15 August.

United chairman Malcolm Cowling, pictured with the new sponsors on the pitch at Ashby Avenue, said: “This season’s sponsorship by Direct Textiles follows on from their first venture with us last season and we thank them for their continuing support with what is the best one-year sponsorship we have secured in recent years.

"We are an ambitious club and the partnership we have with Direct Textiles will help us in our efforts to bring a higher level of football to Ashby Avenue, as well as go towards our plans for gradually improving the ground for our fans.”

Direct Textiles are the UK’s leading specialists in promotional apparel decoration for garments and work-wear. Based in North Hykeham, they print up to 80,000 garments a week and embroider more than 18,000.

Managing director Mark Somerfield said: “The whole team at Direct Textiles are once again looking forward to supporting the Whites’ push for promotion.

"We will encourage all of our staff to attend as many of the games as possible, and hope our involvement in the club helps to make this season a huge success.”
