New sponsor agrees stadium naming rights deal

Frickley Athletic celebrated the start of a new stadium naming rights deal on Saturday with a 3-1 win over Leeds United's U21s at Westfield Lane.

A crowd of nearly 500 saw goals from Simon Lenighan, Chris Wood and Brad Dockerty fire the the Blues to victory over the Championship outfit at their newly sponsored SW Jackson Utilities Stadium.

Delighted officials at the Premier Division club announced in midweek that they'd agreed a one year, five figure deal with the utilities, waste and aggregates company.

As part of the agreement, Blues fans can also look forward to seeing SW Jackson Utilities promoted around the ground and on the club's media channels.

Frickley Athletic chairman Gareth Dando said: “We’re very happy to have Jay and Kuky and his team at SW Jackson on board for the new season and hopefully beyond.

"They have bought into the club’s long term strategy of investing in young local players and being a major part of the local community. The deal will help us continue that investment and to compete at this level of football.”

A spokesman for SW Jackson Utilities said: “We’re proud to give our support to a grassroots club who are doing the things the right way. We’re impressed by the club’s plans for the future with the new clubhouse and in building up the academy. We hope our support can help the club build on an off the field.”
