Newcastle Town announce passing of chairman

A club statement said: "It is with deep regret that the club announces the death of its chairman Paul Ratcliffe after a short illness.

"Paul will be remembered fondly at the club he transformed during his tenure.

"Our condolences go out to all his family and friends at this especially sad time."

Paul first became club chairman in 2006/07 and returned for a second spell in 2018/19.
