North Ferriby ready to welcome England National Deaf Team

International football arrives at the Dransfield Stadium this weekend as North Ferriby host the England Deaf National Team on Saturday.

As part of their preparations for the World Deaf Football Championships in Malaysia in September, the England National Deaf Team will travel to the East Riding of Yorkshire to take on North Ferriby FC.

The Villagers, who are also using the opportunity to lay the groundwork for the upcoming 2023/24 season, are three games into their pre-season campaign and recently played out a 2-2 draw against Rossington Main.

North Ferriby Chairman Les Hare believes that the fixture will be a great moment for his club and for promoting Para football.

"It is such an incredible privilege to be given this opportunity to showcase a full National Team, and in particular, raise the profile of football for those with a hearing disability," Hare said.

The Villagers' manager Chris Bolder is looking forward to giving his side a run out against international opposition, saying: "It will be a special day. It’ll be an honour and a privilege for us to host such a prestigious game.

"The boys are really looking forward to it. We’ll probably see a few changes again but we may look at using a more settled side for longer periods."

Tickets for the game can be purchased at the gate and are priced as follows:

Adults: £5
Concessions: £3
Under 12s: Free when accompanied by a paying adult
