N/West Preview: Brighouse push for play-off spot

By James Gordon

Brighouse Town have jumped to seventh place in the BetVictor N/West Division, with three wins on the bounce in the league.

A single goal from Joe Jagger in the second half was enough to claim the three points against Pickering Town last weekend, and they travel to Borough Park to face table toppers Workington this Saturday.

Tadcaster are just four-points away from a play-off spot and will be hoping to pick up as many points as possible as they travel to third-placed Marine this weekend.

The sixth-placed side fell to a 3-0 defeat to Ramsbottom United last Saturday, and haven’t picked up a win in their last six league fixtures.

The Rams, who sit second in the division by seven points, travel to Kendal Town, who are five points clear of the relegation zone.

At the foot of the table, Pickering Town travel to Widnes, with Jamie Rainford in good form scoring four goals in his last two games, including a first-half hat-trick against Prescot Cables.

Elsewhere in the play-offs, Pontefract Collieries host Trafford, while Marske United travel to Ossett United.

Following their mid-table clash against Colne that resulted in a 2-2 draw, Dunston face Clitheroe, while Runcorn Linnets host Colne.
