Ossett United reinforce attacking options with new signing

Ossett United have today confirmed that they have added attacker Jordan Turner to their squad.

The forward makes the switch from Maltby Main where he has represented the Miners since late 2018.

He also has represented Hallam and Pontefract Collieries in the past and lists these two as former clubs.

Turner will be joining Ossett United immediately and will be looking to help bolster the frontline of the sheepicorns which has struggled to get firing so far this season.

The striker becomes the second signing to make the move to Ingfield this week.

After 23 games played in the Northern Premier League East this season, Ossett United have only scored 27 goals.

This is the fifth lowest total goals scored in the league of nineteen teams and the Sheepicorns find themselves situated in 9th place.

However, it is not all doom and gloom for the West Yorkshire side as they are only 4 points from fourth place.

This signifies there is still more than a chance to rectify the season and the prospect of that is not totally off the cards.

An exciting addition to the squad in Jordan Turner might just prove to be the spark Ossett United need to reignite their sub-par season.

Speaking to the club website about the move, James Colliver said: "We have worked with JT (Jordan Turner) before, and he has developed and matured over the years.

"He always gives 100% and his work rate will be infectious.

"We are sure he will quickly establish himself as a fan favourite with his work ethic alone. JT (Jordan Turner) has scored goals at this level before and is vastly experienced which can only help us."

Ossett United will next face bottom of the league Pickering Town at home on Saturday with a 3.00pm kick off.
