Park Avenue offer help to Bulls

Bradford (Park Avenue) have launched a special opportunity for Bradford Bulls supporters that hold season tickets for the Super League side for the remainder of the season.

The Avenue are encouraging fans of the rugby league outfit to watch Bradford (Park Avenue) at the Horsfall Stadium and on production of their valid season ticket, they can gain entry by paying the admission price, but 50% of the entry fee will go to the Bradford Bulls.

The Super League side need to raise £500,000 by Friday 6th April at 5pm.

The next home game for Bradford (Park Avenue) is against playoff hopefuls Chorley FC on Monday 2nd April. (Kick off: 7.45pm)

Bradford (Park Avenue) have also been busy in the transfer market.

The club have secured the signing of striker Brian Cusworth. The 32 year old forward has had spells at Alfreton Town, Parkgate, Sheffield FC, and fellow Evostik Northern Premier Division clubs Frickley Athletic and Stocksbridge Park Steels.

At the same time, Bradford (Park Avenue) have signed youngster Dean Overson from League 2 outfit Bradford City on loan until the end of the season.

The defender has been a regular for the Reserves this year, as well as being their skipper for the victory against Scunthorpe United.

Commenting on the signings, Bradford (Park Avenue) manager John Deacey said, firstly of Brian Cusworth: 'He is coming to strengthen our squad and he will give us a different option up front. He is a bit more physical, a bit more stronger and when we play the teams around us, you need different options.'

Also, Deacey explained how Overson has been drafted in at the Horsfall Stadium: 'He has been recommended by our scout, he can play across the back four as well as right back. We will have a look at him and see what he is like!'

The addition of the new faces have come at a time when the West Yorkshire side have hit some form. In their previous two games, Avenue have scored eight goals and conceding one. The Bradford boss admitted after their victory against Kendal Town: 'I thought we were absolutely magnificent... Some of the football was breathtaking. Every goal was fantastic, every goal was a great finish with great build build up play.'

The forthcoming week will see Bradford (Park Avenue) travel to face Buxton on Saturday, who have won five out of their previous six games, despite battling against relegation. Furthermore, Bradford host Chorley in a re-arranged fixture on Monday evening, which will see both playoff contenders meet for the first time this season.
