Pay What You Want for relegation showdown

Whitby Town bring back popular scheme

Premier Division Whitby Town's home game with Burscough on Saturday will be a Pay What You Want match; pay as little or as much as you want to watch the Blues survival campaign, then vote for the Seasiders' player of the season.

After a run of eight wins from 14 games in 2012, there'll be plenty of candidates and fans will also be having a game between themselves on the hallowed Turnbull turf afterwards.

Supporters have declared the club's final home match as Exiles Day with diehards coming from all over the country to back the Blues and Locals v Exiles on the same pitch, to follow.

Town's last Pay What You Want game was in April 2010 when Durham City visited the Turnbull Ground and over 400 supporters packed in for what was a dead rubber, unlike this week's encounter.
