Pontefract Collieries look ahead to next season

Pontefract Collieries are preparing for the 2022/23 season following a string of contract announcements for their management and squad.

Current Colls manager, Craig Rouse has signed an initial 18-month contract with the option to extend.

Rouse, who took charge at the start of this season, has taken his team from the bottom of the Northern Premier League East Division towards the middle, in addition to guiding them to a historic Final Qualifying Round of the FA.

Young prospect Jack Shepherd has also committed his future to the club, penning a one-year contract.

The defender moved from Penistone Church in September and has impressed his new club, making 19 appearances in all competitions.

Additionally, midfielder Jack Vann and striker Joe Lumsden have agreed to stay with the Colls for another year. Vann has amassed 25 appearances in all competitions so far, while Lumsden is moving into his second season at Pontefract, scoring 2 goals in 10 appearances so far this season.

Finally, club captain Jack Greenhough has announced that he has extended his stay at the Colls for another year. Despite being sidelined by injuries, the Pontefract born Greenhough has made 23 appearances.
