Pontefract sign Irish youth international

Nicell, a former Leeds United academy player who featured for their youth sides, ended his 12-year association with the club in late 2019.

During his time at Elland Road, he was crowned the club's Academy Player of the Year.

Nicell went on to spend time with Farsley Celtic, and has more recently been playing in Spain for CD Don Alvaro and CD Nueva Ciudad.

"The move came out of the blue, he said."

"I knew Kelsey [head of academy Lee Kelsey] from Leeds and he got in touch asking if I would be interested, which I definitely was.

"I came down and played on Tuesday and went from there.

"I can't wait to get started and I'm grateful for the opportunity. Hopefully we will start the season off well and push on from there for promotion."

Colls' new Pitching In NPL East Division season will begin with a home game against Carlton Town on August 12.
