Posh boss booked for Christmas

Mickleover Sports shouldn't have too many problems selling tickets for their annual sporting diner in the run-up to Christmas after booking Barry Fry to entertain fans.

Sports announced on Friday that Peterborough United's larger than life director of football would be this season's guest speaker alongside comedian John Lory at the Roundhouse, Derby on Tuesday 1 December.

Now 70, Fry was a winger at Manchester United in his youth before brief spells at Bolton Wanderers, Luton Town and Leyton Orient.

After retiring prematurely due to injury, Fry kicked off his management career at Dunstable Town before moving on to Bedford Town, Maidstone United, Southend United, Barnet, Birmingham City and Peterborough United. Famed for his wit and dressing rooms antics, he was even the subject of a fly-on-the-wall documentary, aptly entitled 'There's Only One Barry Fry'.

Tickets for tables of ten are priced at £500 with individual tickets also available and priced at £50. For more information contact club secretary Tony Shaw on 07966 197246.
