Premier Division preview: Hyde and Stafford go head-to-head in search for first league win

Stafford Rangers currently sit second from bottom in the league table, with a draw against Grantham Town and two losses, while recently progressing to the FA Cup third round qualifying after a penalty shoot-out win over Buxton.

Hyde United, who were recently knocked out of the FA Cup by National League North side AFC Fylde, have recorded draws against South Shields and FC United, and sit just one place above their opponents this weekend.

At the top of the table, Paul Carden’s Warrington Town are on the road for the first time in almost four weeks as they travel to to Mickelover.

The Yellows are unbeaten in their first four opening games of the Pitching In Northern Premier League Premier Division, and are yet to concede their first goal.

Sitting in second, Scarborough Athletic are also undefeated so far this campaign, with two wins and a draw and Darren Kelly’s side travel to Witton Albion, who sit fifth in the table.

South Shields will be looking to bounce back from their mid-week defeat to Radcliffe as they travel to Bamber Bridge, who are the only side to have only played two games so far this season (one win, one draw).

Off the back of their 3-1 victory over the Mariners, with goals from Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro (2) and Kole Hall, Radcliffe now sit 15th in the table and face Basford United.

Elsewhere, Matlock Town host Ashton United, while Buxton travel to Stalybridge Celtic.

Morpeth Town’s home clash against FC United of Manchester has been postponed due to a positive coronavirus test at the Highwaymen, alongside Nantwich Town hosting Atherton Collieries and Gainsborough Trinity's trip to the Giant Axe which were called off on Thursday due to positive tests at the Weaver Stadium and Northolme
