Premier Division Preview: Second weekend of action

At the top of the table following their opening 3-0 victory over Mickleover, South Shields are on the road as they travel to Hyde United, who qualified for the FA Cup second round qualifying following a 5-0 defeat over West Allotment.

Warrington Town, who were knocked out of the FA Cup mid-week to the Mariners, host Gainsborough Trinity, with both teams claiming the three-points against Basford United and Hyde United respectively in the opening weekend of the Pitching In Northern Premier League.

Second-placed Buxton play hosts to Whitby Town, with both sides also claiming all three points last weekend.

Scarborough Athletic goalkeeper signing Ryan Whitley has said he wants to help his new club achieve one of the top spots in the table while on loan from York City, and the Seadogs travel to FC United of Manchester, who defeated Pontefract Collieries 6-2 in the mid-week FA Cup action.

Latest Stalybridge Celtic signing Callum Harris could make his debut for his new club this weekend as Celts travel to Nantwich Town, with both sides claiming the one-point in the opening weekend with draws against Lancaster City and FC United respectively.

Basford United travel to the Giant Axe to face Lancaster City, while Matlock Town host Stafford Rangers.

Elsewhere, Mickleover host Morpeth, Witton Albion travel to Radcliffe and Grantham Town face Atherton Collieries.
