By James Gordon

Colwyn Bay midfielder Craig Pritchard has been selected to play for Wales in the Futsal World Cup qualifiers in Moldova next week.

The 21-year-old who won the Seagulls' Player of the Month award for November, has gained selection after helping Wales finish runners-up to England in the Home Internationals held in Northern Ireland before Christmas.

Wales will play matches against Moldova, Finland and Northern Ireland in their qualifying group and Craig flies out with the squad next Sunday. The games are scheduled for the Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday of next week.

He has previously travelled to Andora with Wales and has also played in the last two Home International series. He plays for Cheshire Futsal club on Sundays and they are currently going well and challenging for their league title.

Colwyn Bay manager Craig Hogg commented: "It is a massive achievement for the young man.

"It is fantastic for Craig and as a club we are delighted and very proud of him.

"He has been excellent to work with here at Colwyn Bay and it is great to see that he has been selected for our nation for such a prestigious event.

"We wish him and the Wales squad every success and know they will do us proud."
