Ravens legend departs for the East

Coalville goalkeeper and club captain Sean Bowles has announced ahead of the 2017/18 campaign that he is leaving the club to begin a new life in China with his partner.

The 34 year old ‘keeper has played a significant role in all that the Ravens have achieved over the last two decades during his two spells with the Leicestershire club.

Bowles was between the sticks when Coalville faced Whitley Bay in the 2010/11 FA Vase Final at Wembley and he also captained the side to Play-off success in the EVO-STIK South during the 2015/16 season helping the club reach its highest ever level on the football pyramid.

During his two spells at Owen Street he played 389 games in a Coalville shirt putting him amongst an elite group of players to have made most appearances for the Ravens in their history.

On his departure from the Club he said: "It's been a pleasure to have represented such a great club for so many years. Coalville has given me the best memories of my footballing life and I would like to thank everyone associated with the Ravens who have helped me along the way. The staff, management and everyone I have ever played with, as well as the fans have all been brilliant to me. Thank you."

Chairman Glyn Rennocks added: "I wish Sean all the best in what's going to be a big change for him. From a football clubs perspective he will be a massive loss and a huge personality to replace having been with us for so long and also being the club captain. I along with everyone else involved with the club would like thank him for his efforts during his time here."
