Well over 300 guests are expected to attend the 2016 EVO-STIK Northern Premier League Players of the Year Awards when the accolades return for the fifth season running to the plush Brooklands Holiday Inn near Barnsley.
The brainchild of NLP stalwart and former Manchester City keeper Alan Ogley and launched back in 2012 when World Cup referee Howard Webb handed out the inaugural awards, the event is unique in the top levels of Non-League football with the EVO-STIK NPL’s managers voting for their stars of the campaign.
As well as calling three ‘Teams of the Year’ onto the stage at the four star venue, former Crawley boss Evans will also honour a ‘Player of the Year and ‘Young Player of the Year’ in each division as well as the NPL Facebook Group’s coveted Fans’ Player of the Year.
For the first time, the next generation of stars coming through the Northern Premier League Football Academy will also be honoured at the event ahead of the ground-breaking league wide academy’s expansion to 12 clubs in September.
