Reshuffle follows change at top

The 74-year-old, pictured, stood down at the Yeltz earlier this month after a 21 year association and officials have announced a number of changes after taking the opportunity the end of an era presented to review the club's structure.

After Brookes stepped up to become the club's new president, the biggest change sees former commercial manager Chris Lambert promoted to chief executive officer to oversee their progression on and off the pitch.

Three further positions have been added to the club's committee with long-time Halesowen supporters with a diverse range of skills and attributes filling all the roles.

In a statement announcing the reshuffle, Lambert said: "It is with great pride and honour that I take up this position at Halesowen Town FC. We have a great team manager [John Hill] and new committee plus fantastic supporters and by all pulling together on and off the pitch we can progress the club further up the league."

He added: "Everyone is working very hard during the summer to give our team the best possible start to the season and further announcements will be made during the coming weeks."

The club's new committee members were listed with their responsibilities as CEO Lambert, secretary Andrew While, finance John Slater, commercial Paul Guest, membership Dave Hawley, stadium Neil Broughton, events Emma Broughton and football Steve Lynch.

The Yeltz have also founded a new Presidents Club to reward long and loyal service, naming the first vice-presidents joining Brookes as members as Ron Moseley, Robert Moseley, Stuart Tidesley, Mick Serge and Bob Tromans.

A number of other official roles are expected to be confirmed within weeks and a spokesman added: "We are delighted to announce that Colin Brookes has stepped into the immediate role of club president and will be joined by an initial five vice-presidents, a list that will surely grow over the years."

Barnsley-born Brookes, previously served as the Yeltz’s general manager and filled in as the club’s caretaker manager on four occasions. He was made chairman four-and-a-half seasons ago and oversaw their EVO-STIK NPL First Division South title triumph and promotion back in 2013-14.
