Resignation sparks secretary search

EVO-STIK League Leek Town are on the look-out for a new matchday secretary.

The Blues need a new administrator to work with club secretary Ian Evans and chairman John Eeles after current incumbent Tim Lucy stood down from his duties at the weekend for personal reasons.

Leek Town chairman Eeles paid tribute to their outgoing administrator on Monday in a statement advertising for his successor at the EVO-STIK League South club's Harrison Park home, pictured.

Eeles said: "Tim has been a great asset to us throughout his time as matchday secretary. He's a a big fan and we hope he'll be involved in the future again and that we'll be seeing a lot of him at games."

With the submission of results from home fixtures to the league and official bodies as well as the collation of other matchday data a key part of the voluntary role, potential candidates must be organised and IT literate. Although previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous, officials say it is not essential with training and support given to the right candidate.

Leek's new administrator will also be expected to carry out a number of other liaison roles including acting as a club ambassador on matchdays, both at home to welcome visiting officials and opponents and away as an official representative of the Blues. The successful candidate will also be charged with arranging travel arrangements to away fixtures with the club's coach company as well as helping to organise volunteers at Harrison Park on matchdays.

For more information and to apply, potential candidates should email t.lucy@hotmail.co.uk. Alternatively, applications should be sent by post to: Ian Evans, Club Secretary, Leek Town Football Club, Harrison Park, Macclesfield Road, Leek, Staffordshire, ST13 8LD.
