Rob Hopley extends Wincham Park stay

Rob Hopley has signed a new contract to remain with Witton Albion for the Pitching In Northern Premier League 2021/22 season.

Hopley, 36, arrived at Wincham Park back in November 2015 and has been a key player in Carl Macauley's side.

After missing the entire 2019/20 season with a serious injury, Hopley returned to the Albion fold with a couple of appearances in the FA Trophy last season.

With 85 goals from 177 appearances for Witton, Hopley is one of the club's all time leading goalscorers.

The club also announced the re-signing of goalkeeper Raajan Gill.

Gill, 27, joined Albion at the beginning of the 2020/21 campaign, as back up to first choice Chris Renshaw.

Gill is the second goalkeeper to have signed up following Greg Hall's signing back to the club at the end of last week, giving manager Macauley strong options between the sticks.
