To put the disappointment of missing out on promotion via the play-offs for a third season in a row and boost next season’s bid, Robins chairman Terry Hollis has streamlined the board by appointing several directors to assigned roles so executive directors can call upon their expertise as and when needed.
Explaining the changes, Hollis said: “We have as valuable a team behind the scenes at Hurst Cross as we do on it. In keeping with the ethos of good team work I decided the best way to improve even further was to give a number of executive board members specific responsibility and accountability for an area of the business. This will make us more efficient with the decision processes quicker than they may have been in the past.
“Executive board members will report back to me on their area of operation and have the luxury of operational support from the rest of their rirector colleagues. This will save time by reducing the number of meetings and hopefully energize everyone as we prepare for the new season.”

Former Ashton United chairman and current director John Milne said: “Those board members who do not have an executive role fully support the changes in structure as we all recognise that this new way of working is in the very best interests of the club we all love so dearly.”
Vice-chairman Steve Hobson added: “Reverting to this business model brings the best of both worlds to Ashton United. We streamline the systems and processes and, at the same time, ensure that the massive wealth of experience of Non-League football that we have across our board is not lost. The club is continuing to make steady progress and I am looking forward to the new season already.”
