Russ recalled by Fleetwood

South Shields have confirmed that Will Russ has been recalled by Fleetwood Town.
Russ previously enjoyed a loan spell with FC United of Manchester before he linked up with Kevin Phillips’ side in October.
His deal with the Mariners was expected to last until the 3rd of January 2023, and has been cut short following Fleetwood Town’s decision.
The young forward came through Leicester City’s youth setup before he signed for the Trawlermen earlier this year.
During his stint with South Shields, he made only two appearances for the club, and featured off the bench in this month’s 1-0 loss to high-flyers Hyde United.
The Mariners are on the road next as they make a trip to Cantilever Park to face Warrington Town.
