Salford sign super scout McClelland

Former Mossley manager Gareth McClelland has joined the backroom team at EVO-STIK Northern Premier League Salford City.

Halifax Town FC's head of recruitment, pictured, left the National League club for a similar scouting role at the Ammies at the weekend.

Before joining the Shaymen nearly four years ago, the Cheshire-based coach became the youngest ever manager in the EVO-STIK NPL when he took charge of Woodley Sports back in 2010 aged 28.

He was appointed as Mossley's new manager in April 2011 after a spell as caretaker, leading the Lilywhites to a 15th placed finish in First Division North.

An FC Halifax Town spokesman said: "After a successful four years with The Shaymen, Gareth is looking forward to his new role and everyone at FC Halifax Town wish Gareth well."

* Massive demand from fans for information on FA Cup tickets, replica shirts and merchandise has forced Salford City to launch a special web page with links to dedicated advice pages on their official website.

For the second round in a row, the Premier Division club's officials are looking forward to welcoming the BBC's cameras to Moor Lane when they host League Two Hartlepool United live on BBC2 on Friday December 4.

The Ammies will scoop a £72,000 live broadcast fee after the tie was chosen to kick off the weekend's FA Cup Second Round action after earning a £67,500 TV bonus for their 2-0 televised win over Notts County.

After beating Boreham Wood 2-1 in Hertfordshire on Monday night in their FA Cup First Round Replay, First Division North Northwich Victoria, the lowest ranked team left in this year's competition, will bank a £6,750 overseas live broadcast fee from the BBC when they travel to League Two Northampton on Saturday 5 December.

Premier Division Stourbridge are hosting a special live edition of Football Focus on BBC 1 from their War Memorial Athletic Ground and will also be the subject of a special feature on BT Sport before they host National League Eastleigh later that day.
