Santa (and elf) help Marine floodlight appeal

Festive suits now available from club

Father Christmas has been on hand this weekend to help out in Marine's Floodlight Appeal.

Club secretary Richard Cross and Matchday staff member Beckie Eustace travelled to Marine's clash with Rushall Olympic as Santa and his elf in order to raise funds for the refurbishment of the club's ageing floodlights.

The pair raised £224 for the appeal, helped by a £50 donation from the Pics.

In keeping with the Christmas theme, the club have announced a very special offer of 40 Santa Suits for sale from the Club shop on Saturday prior to the game against Chester FC.

A Santa suit can be purchased for just £5 and all proceeds will go towards the Marine floodlight appeal. The Club shop, located, inside the ground opens from 1:30pm when the turnstiles open.

Marine Chairman Paul Leary said, “This is a novel way of raising funds for our floodlight appeal. As we approach the festive season this is an ideal way to add further interest and enjoyment for the many fans who will attend this big game for both Clubs this coming Saturday.

"Both Chester FC and Marine are in a fine run of form and all expectations are that it will be a cracker of a game. There will be a real family friendly atmosphere around the ground on Saturday and the arrival of 40 Santa’s will only add to what will be a great occasion for all fans at the first ever competitive game between Chester FC and Marine.”
