WARRINGTON Town's "barmy Santa army" created a great atmosphere during their Cheshire Senior Cup Quarter-Final clash with League Two Macclesfield Town.
The loyal supporters were treated to a fantastic performance from the Wire after holding the full-time professionals to a 0-0 draw after 120 minutes.
Joey Dunn's team eventually lost out 5-3 on penalties in what was a night to remember for supporters and players alike.
Town fans dressed up in Santa suits for the match and were vocal through out.
Community development officer James Standing said "I wasn't at the game but was in regular contact with the directors. I could hear the fans through out the game and it was clear to hear them on Radio Warrington's coverage too. They are a credit to our club."
On Twitter, left back Louis Corrigan wrote "Bamy Army, best fans in the Evo-Stik" while captain Tom Hardwich wrote "Fans were unreal all in their Santa suits. Back to the league on Saturday."
Warrington Town host Skelmersdale United at Cantilever Park on Saturday in a 3:00pm kick off.
After the match the club will be hosting a special Christmas Party for 100 of their junior players when the "real" Santa will be in town handing out free goodies including a new limited edition club scarf.
