Game organised for The Vascular Institute & Mobility Wards at Northern General Hospital.

A team of Sheffield FC legends are set to take part in a charity match organised to benefit wards at the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield.

The match has been arranged by former Club manager Dave McCarthy and supporter Tim Surr, who benefited from the Vascular Institute and Mobility wards following a life saving operation three years ago.

A "Dave McCarthy SFC All-Stars" team will feature several legends of Sheffield non-league football, with the following players confirmed as participating; Darren Bonnington, Neil Ferraby, Paul Smith, Richard March, Tom Jones, Rob Ward, Asa Ingall, Daz Winter, Jon Pickess, Duncan Bray, Mick Godber, Jason Tee, and Chris Dolby.

They will be taking on a SFC supporters XI, all of whom will have made a charity donation to take part.

Speaking to the Evo-Stik NPL website, Surr said, "With the help of Sheffield FC, we already had one charity game that raised nearly £900, but I felt I needed to to more.

"These two wards helped me recover, and this hopefully can be my way of showing my gratitude."
